SILVERDOCS seeks non-fiction films that exhibit a personal cinematic vision and meet the highest standards of artistic excellence and technical achievement.

Now entering its seventh year, SILVERDOCS has been hailed as the ’pre-eminent US documentary festival” (Screen International) and as “non-fiction nirvana” (Variety). The Festival features over 100 films, representing more than 50 countries, and bestows awards valued at over $80,000 in cash and prizes.

Documentaries should have been completed on or after March 2008, and not screened on television or theatrically in the US prior to the Festival.

Past SILVERDOCS award winners include JESUS CAMP, BORN INTO BROTHELS, DARWIN’S NIGHTMARE, MY ARCHITECT and STREET FIGHT, all of which were nominated for Academy Awards. SILVERDOCS presented the world premiere of THE BLOOD OF YINGZHOU DISTRICT, which won the 2007 Academy Award for best documentary short.

Attend SILVERDOCS’ International Documentary Conference for five days of cutting edge content in an intimate environment. The Conference runs concurrently with the Festival and is fast becoming the must-attend event for media professionals working at the cutting edge of content, commerce and community.
