SILVERDOCS ANNOUNCES 2010 SPONSORS
Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Courtyard by Marriott, American Airlines Among Returning Sponsors
A.V. Club Sponsors Festival Lounge
Silver Spring, Maryland, June 25, 2010—AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Documentary Festival announces expanded sponsorship for the 2010 Festival, taking place June 21-27, 2010 in the Washington, DC area. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the founding sponsor of the concurrent AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs International Documentary Conference, returns for a seventh year. New sponsors this year include BoConcept, Birch & Barley, United Social Sports and Canon. Downtown Silver Spring returns as a Major Sponsor by hosting the A.V. Club @ Silverdocs (formerly the Cinema Lounge) in the DTSS complex; other major sponsors include American Airlines and Courtyard by Marriott. Comcast renews for the eighth year in the Premiere Sponsor category. Beam Global Spirits and Wine and Barefoot Wine and Bubbly return for a third year. Team extends, for the seventh year, its commitment as the Official Video Design and Production Sponsor. The Maryland Film Office returns as a Contributing Sponsor.
In addition to helping underwrite the presentation of films, conference panels and workshops by over 1,200 filmmakers, industry executives and special guests attending the Festival, sponsors provide strategic goods and services to filmmakers and festival attendees throughout the week. Participation ranges from sponsoring specific film screenings and receptions, to outfitting venues with technology infrastructure and creating event spaces. Sponsors also participate in the national and local promotion of the Festival through traditional and creative promotional efforts.
“We thank the patrons whose support and friendship inspire and energize us, and we offer our sincere appreciation to all our corporate sponsors who make the festival possible through their commitment to the art and to our community,” said Sky Sitney, AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Artistic Director.
