Kevin Bennett

Discovery Communications veteran Kevin Bennett is Senior Vice President of Programming for Discovery Channel, a key position on the flagship’s senior leadership team. Bennett is responsible for planning, directing, and executing the programming strategy for Discovery and has oversight of all programming activities, including program planning, scheduling and programming budgets. In addition, he works closely with new media to further integrate the content on both platforms.

A 14-year programming and development veteran with Discovery Communications, Bennett has been instrumental in the development of three networks – Discovery Health Channel, Discovery Times Channel and ID. Under Bennett’s programming direction, Investigation Discovery experienced 18 consecutive months of year-over-year primetime gains among households since its launch making it the fastest-growing cable network among the coveted demographic of women, 25-54.

Bennett received a master of arts in communication theory and research, and a bachelor of arts in communication studies, from West Virginia University.
