Zina, an immigrant from the former Soviet Union to Israel, has long dreamed of the day when her only son Gennady would marry someone “of our kind.” When he announces his engagement to his girlfriend Nurit, an immigrant from Ethiopia, Zina feels that she must “save” Gennady from making the biggest mistake of his life.
