Melanie Wallace

Melanie Wallace has been devoted to public television for over twenty years serving in many different capacities from production assistant to film director. Currently, she is the Senior Series Producer for NOVA, now in its 38th season.
In that role, Melanie is connected to all aspects of production and works closely with Senior Executive Producer, Paula Apsell. Together, they search for new talent, innovative program ideas, and new co-production opportunities. Melanie is the driving force behind the deals brokered with NOVA’s numerous national and international partners. Another aspect of Melanie’s job is one of ambassador, traveling worldwide to promote the NOVA brand while highlighting the role NOVA plays in the USA to enhance science literacy. Additionally, she is called upon to serve as juror for a variety of awards including the Emmys, Duponts Jackson Hole Wildlife Festival and the Beijing Science Festival. Before assuming the role of Senior Series Producer, Melanie was a staff producer/director, writing, directing and supervising numerous programs and series for NOVA and WGBH. Some of these include Adventure, Odyssey, and The Ring of Truth, as well a Condition Critical: A Forum on American Health Care with TV host Phil Donahue.
