SILVERDOCS takes place in Silver Spring, MD, which is serviced by three major airports:
-Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
-Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
-Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI)
To find the best deals, search (WAS) and you will find flights into all airports. (DCA is the closest airport and is accessible on the Metro line.)
AMTRAK
Amtrak offers a 10% rail fare discount and a 30% companion rail fare discount for Silverdocs. Book travel between May 1, 2012 – June 30, 2012. To book your reservation call Amtrak at 1(800) 872-7245 or contact your local travel agent.
Conventions cannot be booked via Internet. Please be sure to refer to Convention Fare Code X86G-928 when making your reservation. This offer is not valid on the Auto Train and Acela Service. Fare is valid on Amtrak Regional for all departures seven days a week, except for holiday blackouts. Offer valid with Sleepers, Business Class or First Class seats with payment of the full applicable accommodation charges.

From IAD/Dulles International Airport
Go to curbside 2E. Take the 5A Bus towards L’Enfant Plaza. Get off at Rosslyn Metro Station. Take the Orange Line towards New Carrolton. Get off at the Metro Center Metro Station and transfer to the Red Line towards Glenmont. Get off at Silver Spring Metro Station. The AFI Silver Theatre is just two blocks up Colesville Road.
From BWI/ Baltimore Washington Airport:
Follow the signs that say “Public Transit.” Take the B30 Bus from BWI towards the Greenbelt Metro Station. Get off at Greenbelt Metro Station. Take the Green Line Train toward Branch Ave and get out at Fort Totten. Transfer to the Red Line Train toward Glenmont and get out at the Silver Spring Metro Station. The AFI Silver Theatre is just two blocks up Colesville Road.

The AFI Silver Theatre is located at 8633 Colesville Road - at the intersection of Colesville Road and Georgie Avenue - the in the heart of downtown Silver Spring, just blocks from Washington, DC.
Metrobus: The Silver Spring station is served by Metrobus routes 70, 71, J5, F4, F6, JH1, J2, J3, J4, Q2, S2, S4, Y8, Z5..
Ride-On Bus: The Silver Spring station is served by Ride-On routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 28.

Car: The AFI Silver is less than two miles south of Beltway/495 exit 30 (Colesville Road) and exit 31 (Georgia Avenue). The theatre is also convenient to the Bethesda area via East-West Highway, and a short drive from downtown Washington via 16th Street, NW.
Parking: There are two public garages that offer convenient access to Silverdocs: the Wayne Avenue garage between Georgia Ave and Fenton St, and the Town Square Garage at the corner of Ellsworth Dr and Fenton St (directly across from the Civic Building). They both offer free parking on evenings and weekends, with metered rates of 75¢ per hour Monday-Thursday 7:00am-6:00pm, and Friday 7:00am-5:00pm.
