Where are Conference and SchoolDocs presentations taking place?

All 2010 Conference/School Docs activities, including registration, will take place at the Performing Arts Center, Montgomery College/Takoma Campus, 7995 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20910—a 15 minute walk (less than ¾ mile) or free shuttle bus ride from the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center.

Is parking available?

Free parking is available on King Street, adjacent to the Performing Arts Center at Montgomery College, either on the surface lot or in the parking garage.

Where does the shuttle bus stop and how early/late does it run?

The shuttle bus will run from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.  The bus will run continuously and will stop at the AFI Silver Theatre, the Courtyard by Marriott and the Performing Arts Center at Montgomery College.  Volunteers will be available to help with directions.  Look for the yellow shirts!

Where can I get detailed Conference and SchoolDocs agendas?

Detailed agendas are available online at silverdocs.com, or at the Conference Desk at the Conference Hub in the Performing Arts Center at Montgomery College.

I haven’t registered. May I buy a pass on-site?

Yes, you may buy a pass on-site. Visit the registration desk in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center at Montgomery College.

Will Wi-Fi be available?

Yes, you will be able to access free Wi-Fi at the Performing Arts Center at Montgomery College. The network name is MCPA. No password is needed.

What about food/beverages?

Sandwiches, salads, assorted snacks and beverages are available for purchase on site in the Performing Arts Center.

Do I have to sign up to observe the Good Pitch @ Silverdocs?

No sign-up is necessary; all registered attendees are welcome to attend all or part of the Good Pitch session on Wednesday, June 23. We do ask, however, that you do not leave in the middle of a pitch.

How do I sign up for Silver Sessions?

All registered attendees may can sign up on-site for Silver Sessions during the Conference, contingent on space availability. Silverdocs Filmmakers, Platinum Package and Sterling Access pass holders have priority access. Student pass holders are welcome to add their names to the on-site wait list. Each session is limited to 15 participants; a waiting list will be available.

How do I sign up for PBS Office Hours and the NEH One-on-One?

Sign-up is first-come, first-served at the Conference Desk in the Performing Arts Center.

What/Where is the A.V. Club (Cinema Lounge) @ Silverdocs?

Located at 921-J Ellsworth Drive in downtown Silver Spring, above the fountain and Potbelly, the A.V. Club is exclusively for pass holders (over the age of 21) to meet and relax during the Festival. It is the site for evening parties and other special events.

Is there a place to screen films that are in the Festival?

Yes, in the Industry Screening Room located in the Courtyard by Marriott, 8506 Fenton Street Silver Spring, MD 20910, in the “Boardroom” behind the registration desk.  Access to the Industry Screening Room is for pass holders only.
